Following three years of development and thorough testing, Evondos has started the first customer pilot of EvondosCare, its new connected care platform. Together with the new Mira medication dispenser, the milestone marks an important step in Evondos’ evolution towards a broader connected care offering, bringing medication management, remote care and monitoring closer together.
4 November 2026 – Evondos has reached an important milestone in the development of EvondosCare, with the platform now live in its first customer pilot.
On 2 November, home care services in Vöyri, part of the Ostrobothnia Wellbeing Services County in Finland, became the first care organisation to pilot EvondosCare together with Mira, Evondos’ new connected medication dispenser. Kyllikki, a home care client in Vöyri, became the first person to use Mira in her own home.
For Kyllikki, the most important thing that it is straightforward and works.
“That’s the main thing, that they [the medicines] are right,” says Kyllikki.
The pilot is already demonstrating the potential for greater flexibility in home care. With clients able to take their medication independently at the right time, home care visits do not necessarily need to be scheduled around medication intake. Annika Granfors, Home Care Service Manager in Vöyri, sees opportunities to organise visits more flexibly and potentially reduce the need for some visits.
“Clients can take their medicine at the right time themselves, so we don't necessarily have to be there for a home visit at that exact moment. We can visit later, and perhaps a little less often, when clients take care of their own medication with this dispenser,” says Annika Granfors.
In practice, this can give valuable time back to the care organisation while supporting greater independence for people receiving care.
Medication management remains at the heart of Evondos. The established E300 and Anna solutions continue to form an important part of the company’s offering, while Mira and Nora represent the next generation of the portfolio, which are linked to the new platform EvondosCare.
Mira is designed with the highest reliability and user convenience in mind. Developed using extensive feedback from customers, care teams and users, Mira is lighter than Anna and includes an adjustable screen, on-screen guidance and a simplified loading process designed to make everyday use intuitive for both users and care teams.
The bigger development, however, is how these next-generation capabilities come together through a completely rebuilt connectivity and fleet management platform called EvondosCare.
EvondosCare provides the foundation for connecting the next generation of medication management with Evondos’ expanding capabilities in remote care and monitoring, including VitaCam. Together, Mira, Nora and broader digital care and virtual visits capabilities represent the next phase in how Evondos can support people living independently at home and the care organisations supporting them.
