Briefing | Leena Manner | 11.12.2017

Finnish medication robotics company Evondos has reached a major agreement with Norwegian investing company Serendipity Partners. With this agreement Serendipity Partners makes a significant investment to Evondos and becomes a major owner in the company. New capital will help Evondos to strengthen the existing organization, invest significantly in exports, reaching new markets together with business and product development.

Evondos medicine dispensing robots provide significant help to home care daily work, both from home care customer’s welfare and from the economic point of view. Automation of medication distribution removes medicine misalignment and eases the burden of the home care staff. This can both provide better on-time medical care and cut costs significantly.

"Finnish health tech sector is enjoying rapid growth and international attention proves that both Evondos and Finland are doing right things. With new Norwegian owners onboard we can further strengthen our organization and also expect a rapid growth. This will mean new jobs and income both in Finland and in other Nordic countries, says Chairman of the Board of Evondos", Magnus Ehrnrooth.

"Evondos automatic medicine dispensing service is already in use in many Norwegian and Finnish municipalities. Evondos is also present in Sweden and Denmark. New capital will improve our chances to grow in all of these markets, but also internationally."

Norwegian Serendipity Partners sees huge potential in both the developing health tech market and Evondos within it.

"We were impressed by both the know-how and the growth mindset of Evondos. It will be important also from Norwegian national perspective, that we have strong part to play in the developing hi-tech companies such as Evondos", says Director Michael Bodd from Serendipity Partners.

Evondos CEO Jyrki Niinistö is joyful for both the possibilities the investment opens for the company, but also for the society at large.

"With this investment Evondos has a chance to reach our ambitious goals. We are sure to see significant business benefits, but I’m sure the actual winners will be customers and their families. More and more people will have a chance to enjoy better medical care, and we can help hard-working home care staff to do their work even better. Also public sector will see benefits as better care can be provided with less costs."
