Kauppalehti tenth annual growth enterprise celebration: Evondos in southwest Finland shows fastest growth in 2018

Briefing | Leena Manner | 22.05.2019

The Finnish business newspaper Kauppalehti is arranging its tenth Growers tour in May 2019 covering the five districts of Oulu, Jyväskylä, Tampere, Turku and Helsinki, rewarding the top growth enterprises in each district. The award for the leading growth enterprise in Southwest Finland will go to Evondos Oy, which provides a medication dispensing service for homecare organisations.

The award reflects the rapid rise in the annual business turnover of Evondos, which increased fivefold from EUR 800,000 to EUR 4 million between 2016 and 2018, representing an average annual turnover growth rate of 116 per cent in these years.

“The award marks the rapid expansion that we have been striving for consistently through hard work and application. It testifies to our clear success in implementing a strategy of focusing on rapid growth in the Nordic countries, while shifting our priorities from R&D to commercialisation. Effective management of sales has been a particularly important element in the background to this growth. We have clear objectives, we monitor their implementation, and we rectify service deviations quickly,” explains CEO Eetu Koski.

Evondos is targeting further rapid growth

“Our goal is to achieve annual growth of over 50 per cent over the next few years by giving our customers the finest customer experience on the market. Over the years, we have learned to be a partner to our customers as they modernise their practices when deploying new technology. I believe that this partnership is an important reason for our rapid growth,” Koski stresses.

The Evondos Head Office and manufacturing plant are in Salo, Southwest Finland. The service is accordingly entitled to use the Key Flag of the Association for Finnish Work. It has been deployed by nearly 150 local authorities in the Nordic countries. Though the current export markets for the medication dispensing service are confined to Sweden, Norway and Denmark, the company plans to expand its operations into other countries in the near future. Exports currently account for about 2/3 of business turnover.

The principal owners of Evondos are the Norwegian Serendipity Partners private equity firm, Magnus Ehrnrooth, Helene Ehrnrooth and Tradeka-Yhtiöt Oy.
